A Small Step, A Big Leap
Back when the year began, I asked myself, as I do at the start of each year, what new niche do I let define my personality for the rest of the year?
The last year being Norse mythology/music/culture, the year before that being manga/manhua/manhwa. Now, I’m aware blogging isn’t niche, quite the opposite actually, but context is king and the context here is none in my circle blog (save for one, we’ll get to that later). I’ll be treating this blog as a personal wiki of sorts, documenting, describing and demonstrating things that happen to pique my interest throughout 2023. This post was set to be uploaded on the 31st of January, so forgive me for borrowing another day from February (as if 2 fewer days weren’t enough pain for the poor month lmao).
I think this is the part where I explain the blog name. I’ve been into Soulsborne for a few years now, and while the pain of trying 100s of times to beat a single boss is its own pleasure, the lore is what truly sets the genre apart. The feeling that there’s more to the story, just one more line that might finally close the chapter. Knowing just enough to know you don’t know enough.
I’m afraid I spent a long time on this post, I put a great deal of importance on it, thinking beginnings should matter, should leave an imprint, as they say You only get one chance to make a first impression. And yet, there’s another side to that coin, beginnings matter not because they are the first step, but because they pave the way for the rest.
With this, I take my leave. Thanks for reading.
PS: As mentioned above, inspired by the only person I know who blogs.
